Okay, so I’ve been hooked on Monopoly Go lately, like, seriously hooked. And I started wondering, how much does it actually cost to finish a board? I’m not talking about real money here, but the in-game cash you grind for. So, I decided to track it. Very. Carefully.
First, I started a brand new board. Fresh, untouched, ready to be built upon. I made sure I had a decent stash of dice rolls saved up – that’s key, because you can’t build anything without moving around the board.
My Little Experiment Begins
Then, the building began. I picked the first landmark and started upgrading it. I meticulously noted down the cost of each upgrade. It starts small, you know, a few thousand here, a few thousand there. But it quickly escalates. Like, really quickly.
- Level 1: $5,000 (just guessing)
- Level 2: $12,000 (getting higher)
- Level 3: $25,000 (oof)
- And so on…I lost the exact values, it was a lot.
I kept upgrading, and upgrading, and upgrading. Each landmark has, I think, five levels? And each level gets more and more expensive. My in-game cash was dwindling fast, even with all the dice rolls and free gifts the game throws at you.
It was a grind, let me tell you. I spent hours just rolling, landing on Chance or Community Chest, hoping for some cash bonuses, and then sinking it all back into those landmarks. I even tried to be strategic, focusing on one landmark at a time to get the bonus for completing a set. Every little bit helps, right?
Finally, after what felt like forever, I finished the last landmark on the board. I was both relieved and kind of shocked at how much I’d spent. And the grand total you are all waiting for?
It is costing me around 20 to 30 bilion per board!
I definitely need a new strategy to save my cash, do not be like me, and plan your spending carefully in Monopoly Go!
