Okay, so my Fitbit Charge 5 was acting up. It was freezing, not syncing correctly, just generally being a pain. I figured a factory reset might be the ticket, and luckily, it was pretty straightforward. Here’s what I did:
First, I made sure my Fitbit was charged up. I mean, you don’t want it dying mid-reset, right? Then I grabbed the charging cable, and Plugged it in.
Next came the fun part. I located that little button on the charging cable. It’s the only button, so it’s hard to miss.I pressed it three times, but here’s the tricky thing, I had to make sure my presses are pausing briefly (like, one second) between each press. Don’t rush it!
After the third press and a short pause, The Fitbit logo showed up on the screen.
After that, I just waited. The Fitbit did its thing, and it took a few * screen went black for a moment, and then the Fitbit logo appeared, which means it’s restarting, and I knew I’d done it right.
Once it booted back up, it was like a brand-new Fitbit! All my old data was gone, and I had to set it up again through the Fitbit app on my phone. It took a little time to get everything re-synced and customized, but it was worth it. My Charge 5 is working smoothly again, and I can track my steps without any weird glitches.
