Alright, so today I’m gonna share my experience slapping a privacy screen protector on my iPhone 11. Nothing too fancy, but figured someone might find it useful.
First off, I bought this screen protector off of Amazon. It was like, ten bucks for a pack of two. Seemed like a decent deal. The box came with the protectors, some wet wipes, dry wipes, and those dust sticker thingies. Standard stuff.
So, I started by cleaning my phone screen. I used the wet wipe first, making sure to get all the smudges and fingerprints off. Then, I followed up with the dry wipe to get rid of any moisture. This is important, you don’t want water stuck under your screen protector.
Next, I used the dust stickers. My bathroom is usually pretty dusty, so I went over the screen a couple of times with those. I swear, even after cleaning, there’s always a tiny speck of dust lurking somewhere, ready to ruin your day.
Peeling off the backing of the screen protector was the next step. I tried to be real careful not to touch the sticky side. That’s a surefire way to get fingerprints under the protector.
Now, the tricky part: aligning the protector. I lined it up with the speaker at the top and the edges of the screen. Took me a couple of tries to get it perfect. This is where patience comes in handy. Don’t rush it!
Once I was happy with the alignment, I gently laid the protector down onto the screen. Started from the top and slowly worked my way down, pressing it as I went. You can usually see the protector adhering to the phone as you go.
Inevitably, there were some bubbles. I used my finger to push them towards the edges of the screen. For the stubborn ones, I used the edge of a credit card, wrapped in the microfiber cloth that came with the protector, to gently push them out. Worked like a charm.
After all the bubbles were gone, I gave the screen a final wipe with the microfiber cloth. And bam! Privacy screen protector installed. It’s not perfect, I can still see some micro-bubbles if I really look close, but overall, it looks pretty good.
Does the privacy thing work? Yeah, it does. If you’re looking at the screen head-on, it’s perfectly clear. But if someone’s looking at it from the side, they’ll just see a dark screen. Good for nosy subway riders.
One thing I noticed is that the screen is a bit darker now. I had to bump up the brightness a little to compensate. Not a huge deal, but worth mentioning.
So, there you have it. My super thrilling experience installing a privacy screen protector. It’s a pretty simple process, but taking your time and being careful makes all the difference. Hope this helps someone out there!
