Okay, here’s my blog post about my experience with a privacy screen for my iPhone 14 Pro Max:
So, I finally got around to getting a privacy screen protector for my iPhone 14 Pro Max. I’ve been meaning to do it for ages, you know, just to keep prying eyes away when I’m on the train or in a coffee shop. You never know who’s looking over your shoulder!
The Hunt Begins
First things first, I had to find one. I did a quick search, and man, there are a ton of options out there. Different brands, different levels of privacy, different prices… it was a bit overwhelming, to be honest. I ended up reading a bunch of reviews and finally settled on one that seemed pretty well-regarded and reasonably priced. I figured, worst case, I’m not out a ton of money if it sucks.
Getting it On (The Struggle is Real)
Okay, so the package arrived. I ripped it open, excited to finally have some privacy. Inside, there was the screen protector (obviously), a little microfiber cloth, a dust removal sticker, and some weird squeegee thing. I watched a couple of videos on how to apply it, because I am terrible at this kind of stuff. Bubbles, dust, misalignment… you name it, I’ve done it.
I followed the instructions, cleaned the screen, got rid of every single speck of dust (I think!), and then… the moment of truth. I carefully lined up the protector and slowly lowered it onto the screen. The first few seconds went fine. Then, air bubbles started to appear. I tried using the squeegee, but small bubbles remained, which made me frustrated.
After repeating several steps. I gave up. I accepted the little imperfection.
The Verdict
It’s been a few days now, and I’m pretty happy with it. The privacy aspect works really well. When I look at the screen straight on, it’s perfectly clear, but if you try to look at it from an angle, it just looks dark. Mission accomplished!
- Privacy: Works like a charm!
- Installation: Not my forte, but I managed.
- Touch Sensitivity: No issues at all.
- Overall: Worth it.
I’d definitely recommend getting a privacy screen protector if you’re concerned about people seeing your phone screen. Just be prepared for a potentially frustrating installation process, and maybe have a friend help you out if you’re as clumsy as I am!
