Got my new iPhone 15 the other day, and man, was I stoked! But you know what’s always in the back of my mind with these shiny new gadgets? Keeping them safe. Especially those fancy camera lenses – they stick out a bit, and I’m kinda clumsy. So, first thing on my to-do list was getting a lens protector.
I started by hitting up the usual spots online, just browsing around to see what was out there. I wasn’t really sure what I was looking for, just something that wouldn’t mess with the picture quality but would still do a good job of protecting the lenses. Found a few options, some made of glass, others from some kind of plastic, like this PET stuff.
Making a Choice
- Checked out a few different brands, reading through descriptions and stuff.
- Some were pretty cheap, others a bit more pricey. Didn’t want to go too cheap, but also didn’t want to blow a bunch of money on something that wasn’t worth it.
- Looked at what people were saying in the reviews. You know, the usual – checking for complaints about them falling off or messing up photos.
After a bit of digging, I decided to go with a glass one. Figured it would be a bit tougher than the plastic ones. Ordered it, and it showed up a couple of days later. Came in this neat little package with everything you need to put it on.
Putting It On
Opened up the package and found the protector, along with a cleaning cloth, some dust removal stickers, and this little guide frame thing. Seemed pretty straightforward.
- Cleaned the lenses really good with the cloth, making sure there wasn’t any dust or fingerprints.
- Used the dust removal stickers to get any tiny bits that were still hanging around.
- Stuck the guide frame on the phone, which was supposed to help line up the protector perfectly.
Then came the moment of truth. Peeled off the backing from the protector and carefully placed it on the lenses, using the frame as a guide. Pressed it down gently, and it seemed to stick pretty well. Took off the frame, and there it was – looking good, almost like it wasn’t even there.
The Result
I’ve been using it for a few days now, and so far, so good. Took some pictures, and they look just as sharp as before. The protector doesn’t seem to be affecting the image quality at all, which is a relief. It’s also holding up well, no scratches or anything yet. Feels good knowing that those lenses have an extra layer of protection, especially when I’m tossing my phone in my bag or pocket.
So yeah, that’s my little adventure with getting a lens protector for my iPhone 15. Pretty simple, but definitely worth it for the peace of mind. If you’re rocking a new iPhone and are as paranoid about scratches as I am, I’d say it’s a good move. Just do a little research, find one that fits your budget and has good reviews, and you’re golden!
