So, I finally got my hands on the new iPhone 15 Pro. Super stoked, obviously! But that giant camera bump on the back? Yeah, that’s a scratch magnet waiting to happen. I knew I needed to protect those lenses, stat.
First things first, I hit up the internet. Did some digging, you know, reading reviews, watching unboxing videos… the usual. There are a TON of options out there, from cheap plastic ones to tempered glass. I figured glass was the way to go for the best protection and clarity.
I ended up grabbing a pack of tempered glass protectors from a brand I’d never heard of before, mainly because they had good reviews and the price was right. When they arrived, I was a little nervous, I am not gonna lie. I’ve messed up screen protectors before, so applying something to those tiny, delicate lenses felt even more daunting.
The Application Process (aka. My Mild Panic Attack)
- Clean, clean, clean. The kit came with some little wipes, so I scrubbed those lenses like my life depended on it. Any dust or lint would be trapped forever, and that would drive me insane.
- Line it up. This was the tricky part. The protectors were tiny, and my hands were a little shaky. I took a deep breath and tried to get it as centered as possible.
- Slow and steady. I pressed down gently in the center and watched as the adhesive spread across the lens. It was kind of mesmerizing, actually.
- Bubble trouble? Luckily, no major bubbles! I used the included squeegee thing (technical term, I know) to push out a couple of tiny ones near the edge.
I repeated the process for the other two lenses. Honestly, it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be! Once they were all on, I gave them a final wipe down, and bam! Protected lenses.
Now, I can toss my phone in my bag without worrying about those precious lenses getting scratched up. Peace of mind, you know? Plus, the protectors are practically invisible, so they don’t mess with the look of the phone at all. So far, so good, and my photos still look amazing! Definitely a worthwhile investment, in my book.
