Hey guys, it’s your buddy here, back with another tech story. So, I’ve been messing around with my website lately, trying to get everything just right. But then, boom! I hit a snag. I was trying to access my site, and it just wouldn’t load. I was like, “What the heck is going on?”
At first, I thought it was just my internet acting up. You know how it is, sometimes your Wi-Fi just decides to take a break. I tried the usual stuff, like, turning it off and on again. When that didn’t work, I got a bit worried. I even checked if other websites were loading, and they were. So, it wasn’t my connection.
Then, I started thinking, “Could it be something else?” I remembered hearing about this thing called Heimdal. It’s like, this security software that can block websites. I wasn’t sure if that was the problem, but it was worth a shot.
I did a bit of digging around and found out that Heimdal is supposed to protect you from nasty stuff on the internet. It checks the sites you visit and stops you from going to places that might mess up your computer. That’s cool and all, but I really needed to get to my site!
So, I found their website which is dedicated to helping with technical issues. There is a lot of different information there and I think that this should be able to solve my problem.
I also found out that some internet providers can block sites by changing something called DNS. It’s like, a phone book for the internet. If they mess with the entries, you can’t find the sites you’re looking for. I heard that using something called Google or Cloudflare DNS can fix this. I have no idea what this means, but it might be worth a try if nothing else works.
One way I tried to check if my site was being blocked was by looking at my router’s logs. Most routers keep track of what’s going on in your network. I poked around in the settings and found the logs, but I’m not really sure what I’m looking at. It’s all just a bunch of numbers and codes.
I also saw some stuff online about a site being flagged as malicious by Heimdal, even though it seemed fine. So maybe that was happening to my site, too. Just to be sure I used some online tools to check for any warning or error messages.
Now, I’m not giving up yet. I’m gonna keep trying to figure this out. Maybe I need to change my DNS settings, or maybe I need to tweak something in Heimdal. I’ve seen some articles online about unblocking sites, so I’ll give those a read. Hopefully, I can get back to my site soon. I’ll keep you guys posted!
- Tried restarting my router.
- Checked if other websites were working.
- Read about Heimdal and DNS blocking.
- Looked at my router’s logs.
- Checked online tools for any website warnings.
- Going to try changing DNS settings.
- Going to read articles about unblocking websites.
Next Steps
I’m going to keep working on this and see if I can get my site unblocked. I’ll try the DNS thing and look into Heimdal’s settings. If any of you have had similar experiences or have any tips, let me know in the comments. Wish me luck!
