Okay, so I’ve been rocking this phone for a while, and I’m kinda clumsy, so a good case is a MUST. I kept seeing Speck cases pop up, so I figured I’d give one a shot. Here’s how it went down.
The Hunt Begins
First, I jumped online to see what the deal was with Speck. I saw a bunch of different styles, some slim, some bulky, some clear, some with glitter…it was a lot. I decided I wanted something protective but not too huge, so I narrowed it down to their Presidio line. They had a few options, and I ended up grabbing the Presidio2 Grip.
Putting It On
When the case arrived, I was pretty eager to get it on my phone. It felt pretty solid, not flimsy at all. Snapping it on was super easy, it just clicked right into place. No wrestling or weird bending required. I checked to make sure all the buttons and ports were still accessible, and they were – perfect!
The “Drop Test” (Accidental, of Course!)
Okay, here’s where things get real. I’m not gonna lie, I’m a butterfingers. Within the first week, I dropped my phone…more than once. I cringed every time, but each time I picked it up, the phone was totally fine! No cracks, no scratches, nothing. The case has these little raised ridges, and I think those really helped absorb the impact.
Living With It
I’ve been using the Speck case for a few months now, and it’s holding up great. It’s gotten a few minor scuffs, but that’s expected. The grip on the back is actually really useful, it makes it way less likely to slip out of my hand. It’s also not too bulky, so it still fits in my pocket without a problem. The color hasn’t faded or anything, either.
- Pros:
- Survived multiple drops.
- Feels really sturdy.
- Good grip.
- Not too bulky.
- Cons:
- Maybe a little pricey, but worth it for the protection.
- It has a few minor scuffs, nothing to serious.
The Verdict
So, is the Speck case any good? From my experience? Heck yeah! It’s saved my phone from certain doom multiple times. If you’re clumsy like me, or just want some solid protection without turning your phone into a brick, I’d definitely recommend giving Speck a look.
