Hey everyone, it’s been a while! Today I want to talk about something that’s been on my mind lately – finding a good cardholder case for my trusty old iPhone 6. Yeah, I know, it’s an ancient device in the tech world, but it still works perfectly fine for me. Plus, Apple just announced that iPhone 6 Plus was officially added to the obsolete product list on April 1, 2024, so I guess I’m not alone in holding onto these oldies. I am determined to continue using it.
So, the thing is, I’ve been wanting to streamline what I carry around. My wallet’s gotten pretty bulky with all sorts of cards, and I thought, why not combine my phone and cards into one? It’s 2024, this has to be easy, right? I started looking into iPhone 6 cases with card holders.
First, I went online, just to get a general idea. Typed in “iPhone 6 cardholder cases” and started browsing. Saw a bunch of options, some clear cases with a card slot on the back, some flip cases, and a variety of materials, some were on sale for $7.99 or something. They looked pretty nice, but I wasn’t sure which one to pick.
Then, I remembered I wanted something not just functional, but also sturdy. My phone’s taken a few tumbles over the years, so I need a case that can handle that. I started checking reviews for cases that mentioned “shockproof” or “protective.”
I found some options like the TORU CX PRO or the QLTYPRI cases, those looked promising, and they were around 11 or 12 bucks. Not bad. But then, I stumbled upon the Smartish iPhone 6 Wallet Case – Wallet Slayer Vol. 2, it called itself “Slim Protective”. And it was also around 11 bucks, I guess I really needed to go check them out in person.
So, I headed to a few local stores, you know, to actually hold these cases and see how they feel. I tried on a few, and honestly, some of them felt kinda cheap. Others were okay, but just didn’t click with me. Also, I found that some iPhone models are compatible with the same case, like 6/6s, 7, 8, and SE(2020).
After visiting a couple more places, I finally found one that I liked. It’s a simple, clear silicone case with a card slot on the back. It’s slim, doesn’t add much bulk, and feels pretty solid. The card slot is tight enough that I’m not worried about my cards falling out. They call it UEEBAI or something, and it’s around $13.99. A little bit more expensive, but I think it’s good.
Here’s what I learned from this whole experience:
- There are tons of options out there. You can find anything from basic clear cases to fancy leather ones.
- Read the reviews! They can give you a good idea of the case’s quality and durability.
- Go to a store and try them on. It’s the best way to see if a case feels right for you.
- Don’t be afraid to spend a little more for quality. It’s worth it in the long run.
- Compatibility is a mystery. Even though the iPhone 6 plus and iPhone 7 plus are pretty much the same size, the layout of the phones are slightly different. So, not every case can fit different models.
Anyway, I’m happy with my new case. It’s exactly what I was looking for, a simple and practical way to carry my phone and a couple of essential cards. Now, I just need to figure out which cards to ditch from my old wallet. But that’s a problem for another day.
That’s all for now. Let me know in the comments if you have any recommendations for iPhone 6 cardholder cases, or if you’ve had similar experiences. I’d love to hear about them!
