Okay, so I’ve been rocking my MacBook for a while now, and I’m, like, super paranoid about scratching it. You know, that sleek aluminum finish? Gorgeous, but a fingerprint and scratch magnet! So, I finally decided to get a hard shell case. Here’s how the whole thing went down.
The Hunt Begins
First, I spent way too much time browsing online. Seriously, there are a TON of options out there. Different colors, different materials, some with keyboard covers, some without… it was overwhelming! I read a bunch of reviews, trying to figure out which ones were actually good and which ones were just cheap plastic that would crack after a week.
Narrowing It Down
I decided I wanted something simple and clear – I didn’t want to completely hide the Apple logo, you know? I also figured a matte finish would be better for hiding fingerprints than a glossy one. And I definitely wanted something that felt sturdy, not flimsy.
- Checked the model number: First things first. I double-checked my MacBook’s model number (it’s on the bottom) to make sure I got the right size case.
- Looked for good ventilation. Macs can get hot, and i don’t want this case over heat it.
The Installation Process
Okay, so the case arrived. It came in two pieces – one for the top and one for the bottom. I wiped down my MacBook with a microfiber cloth to get rid of any dust or smudges before I started.
The bottom piece snapped on pretty easily. It just clicked into place around the edges. The top piece was a little trickier. I had to line it up just right and then press down firmly until I heard it click all the way around. It took a couple of tries, but I finally got it.
The Final Result
Honestly, I’m pretty happy with it! It feels solid and protective, and it doesn’t add much bulk to the laptop. The matte finish is definitely better at hiding fingerprints, and it still lets the Apple logo shine through. It’s not perfect, but it gives me a lot more peace of mind when I’m carrying my MacBook around. Plus all my friend said my macbook looks great.
If you’re thinking about getting a hard shell case, I’d say definitely do your research and read reviews. And make sure you get the right size for your specific MacBook model! Don’t make the mistake by using the wrong size!
