Okay, so, I got this new MacBook, the one with the M5 chip. I’ve been messing around with it, trying to see how long this thing actually lasts on a single charge. I heard some folks saying it could go for, like, 15 hours or something crazy like that. So, naturally, I had to put it to the test myself.
First thing I did was charge it all the way up to 100%. Took a while, you know, the usual. Then, I started using it like I normally would. Browsing the web, checking emails, watching some videos, you get the idea. Just regular stuff, nothing too intense. The usual.
I kept an eye on the battery percentage throughout the day. It was dropping, obviously, but not as fast as I thought it would. After a few hours of using it on and off, it was still above 80%. I thought that was pretty decent. I mean, my old laptop would have been begging for a charger by then.
My Test Results
- Start time: 9:00 AM, battery at 100%
- Mid-day: Around 1:00 PM, battery was still hovering around 60% after some YouTube and a bit of writing.
- Evening: By 7:00 PM, after streaming some music and browsing, it was down to about 30%.
- End of the day: Finally, around 10:00 PM, it hit that 10% mark, and I decided to call it a day.
Honestly, I was surprised. It lasted a good 13 hours, maybe a bit more. And that’s with me using it pretty consistently throughout the day. I even did some light gaming, and it still held up pretty well. No complain.
Now, I know what you’re thinking. “Thirteen hours isn’t 15 or 17, dude.” Yeah, I get it. But I wasn’t exactly trying to conserve battery. I had the screen brightness up, Wi-Fi on the whole time, and I wasn’t closing apps every five seconds. So, I think it did great, all things considered.
Of course, battery life depends on a bunch of things, like what you’re doing, your settings, and even the age of the battery. I just wanted to share my experience with the M5 MacBook. It’s not a scientific test or anything, just a regular guy using his laptop. All in all, I’m pretty happy with it. This thing’s a beast when it comes to battery life, at least compared to what I’m used to.
So, if you’re thinking about getting one, I’d say the battery life is definitely a plus. It’s not going to die on you in the middle of something important, at least not in my experience. But, you know, your mileage may vary. Just my two cents.
I heard that the battery can last for 300 to 500 charge cycles, I will try it out and keep you guys updated!
