Okay, here’s my blog post about setting up a MagSafe phone mount in my car:
So, I finally jumped on the MagSafe train. I’ve been seeing those cool magnetic phone mounts everywhere, and I gotta say, I was getting pretty jealous of how easy it looked to just slap your phone on and go. My old mount was one of those clunky ones with the spring-loaded arms, and it was always a pain to get my phone in and out, especially with one hand.
First, I ordered a MagSafe compatible phone case. My old one was great for protection, I mean that was my first priority, so i got to make sure to take care of that first, I don’t wanna drop my phone obviously.
Then, I started hunting for the actual mount. I checked a bunch of online stores, I have been researching for days now! I even have gone through a lot, I mean A LOT of review videos, finally I picked one that seemed pretty sturdy and had good reviews. It’s a vent clip style, because I didn’t want anything stuck to my dashboard.
The Installation Process
- I unboxed everything. It came with the mount itself, a little metal ring (I guess for phones that aren’t MagSafe-ready?), and some instructions that were, surprisingly, useful!
- I found a good vent in my car. I wanted it somewhere within easy reach, but not blocking my view of the road or the air flow too much.
- I clipped the mount onto the vent. It was pretty straightforward, just a little pressure and it snapped into place. I gave it a good tug to make sure it was secure.
- Then, with my MagSafe case on my phone, I just held it up to the mount. And… click! It snapped right on. Seriously, it was so satisfying.
I took it for a test drive, and I have to say, I’m impressed. The magnet is surprisingly strong. My phone didn’t budge, even when I went over some bumpy roads. Taking the phone off is just as easy, a slight twist and it’s free.
Overall, I’m super happy with this upgrade. It’s so much more convenient than my old mount, and it just looks cleaner. If you’re thinking about getting a MagSafe car mount, I definitely recommend giving it a try. It’s a small thing, but it makes a big difference in my daily driving routine.
