Okay, so, I’ve been trying to get a handle on all my digital photos, it’s been a real mess. I wanted to share how I finally managed to organize them, just in case anyone else is struggling with the same thing.
First off, I started by gathering all the photos. I had pictures scattered everywhere – on my phone, old hard drives, even some on cloud storage. It took a while, but I moved everything to one central location, which in my case was my main computer’s hard drive.
- I went through each folder one by one.
- Dragged and dropped files.
- It was tedious, but necessary.
Then, I started sorting. Since I had a bunch of photos I knew I could just get rid of them, I deleted a whole bunch of photos that were either duplicates, blurry, or just plain bad. This cleanup took some time, but it felt good to trim down the collection.
After that, I downloaded the Google’s Files app for Android. There are many options out there, but I tried this one and it works for me. I opened the Files app and checked for photo duplicates and other file-deletion suggestions.
Finding a Good Storage Solution
Next, I had to figure out where to store everything long-term. I looked into a few different cloud storage services. There’s a lot out there – Google Photos, Dropbox, and iCloud. You should check out a few and see which one you like best. These services are great to store photos.
I also found out about some services, such as Backblaze and iDrive, that can back up your entire computer, which is pretty cool. After some digging, I settled on Google Photos because I already use a bunch of Google stuff, and it seemed easiest. Also, I noticed that Google Photos has a function to check for photo duplicates, too. I also paid some money for extra storage since I had so many photos.
Once I picked my storage service, I started uploading all my sorted photos. It took a while because there were so many, but I just let it run in the background while I did other things.
And that’s basically it! It was a lot of work, but now all my photos are in one place, organized, and backed up. It feels great to finally have it all under control. I am now happy to share my experience with everyone!
