Alright, so I’ve been messing around with my MSI Claw, and I wanted to share my little project of finding and printing some cool STL files for it. It’s been a fun ride, so let me walk you through it.
Finding the Right STL Files
First things first, I needed to find some STL files. I started by hitting up the usual spots. You know, just browsing around to see what caught my eye. I wanted something that would both look cool and be somewhat useful, not just a random print.
The Search Continues
I spent a good chunk of time just scrolling through different designs. It’s kinda like window shopping, you see a bunch of stuff, and some things just stand out more than others. I stumbled upon a few designs.
Preparing the Files
Once I downloaded the files, the next step was getting them ready for print. I Use a slicer program, you know, the basic one. And then I just played around with them and got a perfect print out.
Printing Time
With everything set, it was finally time to print. I loaded up the filament, double-checked the settings on my printer, and hit start. This part always feels a bit magical, watching the printer slowly build up the design layer by layer.
First Print Attempt
My first attempt… well, it didn’t go perfectly. The print ended up warping a bit. I’m pretty sure it was because I didn’t get the bed temperature quite right. It’s always a bit of trial and error with these things.
Tweaking and Trying Again
So, back to the drawing board. I adjusted the bed temperature, slowed down the print speed a bit, and made sure the first layer was sticking really well. Then, I started the print again. This time, it looked much better from the get-go.
Success at Last!
After a few hours of waiting, the second print finished, and it was awesome! The details came out crisp, and there was no warping at all. It fit perfectly on my MSI Claw, and I was pretty stoked about how it turned out.
Final Touches
I did a little bit of post-processing, just to clean up some rough edges. After sanding, I got a super fine print out.
