Okay, so I recently got my hands on the new Macbook Pro M3, and let me tell you, that thing is slippery. Seriously, it’s like holding a wet bar of soap. I was terrified of dropping it, so I immediately started looking for a solution.
Finding the Right Fit
My first thought was a full-on case, but I didn’t want to add a ton of bulk. This laptop is sleek, and I wanted to keep it that way. Then I stumbled upon these “anti-slip covers” – basically, thin sheets of material that stick to the bottom of the laptop.
I did some digging around, comparing different brands, materials, and, you know, reading a bunch of reviews. I ended up going with a simple, clear TPU one. Figured it wouldn’t be too noticeable, and the reviews said it had good grip.
Putting it On (the tricky part!)
Alright, so the package arrived. Inside was this thin, almost invisible sheet and some instructions. Sounded easy enough, right? Wrong!
- First, I cleaned the bottom of my Macbook with the included wipe. Gotta get rid of any dust or oils.
- Then came the tricky part – peeling off the backing. This thing was static central. It kept sticking to itself, to my fingers, to everything but the laptop.
- After a few (okay, maybe more than a few) frustrating attempts, I finally got the backing off. Next up: aligning it.
- I carefully lined up the cover with the bottom edges of the Macbook, trying to get it perfectly straight. Took a couple of tries, and a lot of slow, careful movements. I started by the apple logo.
- Once I had it in place, I smoothed it out, pushing out any air bubbles. The instructions said to use a credit card, but I just used my fingers. Worked fine.
The Result
Honestly, it wasn’t the easiest thing to apply, but it wasn’t rocket science either. And the result? Totally worth it. My Macbook feels so much more secure in my hands now. It doesn’t slide around on my desk anymore, and I’m not constantly worried about it slipping out of my grip.
The clear cover is barely noticeable, which is exactly what I wanted. It doesn’t add any bulk, and the laptop still looks super clean. If you’ve got a Macbook Pro M3 (or any slippery laptop, really), I’d definitely recommend checking out these anti-slip covers. They’re a simple, affordable way to add some much-needed grip and peace of mind.
