Okay, so I finally caved and got myself one of those fancy cordless pool cleaners. I’d been eyeing them for a while, but the price always made me hesitate. But, man, was I tired of dragging out the old suction-side cleaner and wrestling with that hose.
I did a bunch of searching, read a ton of reviews, and finally settled on a Polaris. Seemed like a good brand, and the reviews were mostly positive.
Getting Started
The box arrived, and I was like a kid on Christmas morning. Ripped that thing open and started putting it together. It was actually pretty simple. Not a million parts or anything. The main unit, the filter canister, and the floating power cable.
Charging it up was the first step. They recommend giving it a full charge before the first use, so I plugged it in and waited. Took a few hours, which gave me time to skim through the instruction manual. It’s always a good to know what you’re doing.
Into the Pool!
Once it was fully charged, I was ready to go. I carefully lowered the cleaner into the pool, making sure it was fully submerged before letting go. It sank to the bottom, and then, with the push of a button on the control unit, it whirred to life.
It started moving around, systematically covering the pool floor. I was immediately impressed with how well it navigated. It didn’t just randomly bounce around like some of the cheaper models I’d seen. This thing seemed to have a plan.
It climbed the walls, scrubbed the waterline, and even managed to get into some of the tighter corners of my pool. I watched it for a while, just kinda mesmerized. It was so much easier than my old cleaner!
The Results
After about two hours, it automatically shut off. I used the included hook to lift it out of the water – pretty effortless, I must say. The filter canister was easy to remove and, wow, was it full of leaves, dirt, and even some bugs. Gross, but satisfying to see how much gunk it had picked up.
I rinsed out the canister with a garden hose, popped it back in, and that was it. My pool looked sparkling clean, and I didn’t even break a sweat.
Final Thoughts
- Easy to Use: Seriously, it’s almost foolproof. Charge it, drop it in, and press a button.
- Cleans Well: My pool was noticeably cleaner than when I used my old suction-side cleaner.
- Cordless Freedom: Not having to deal with a hose is a game-changer.
- Pricey, but Worth It: I’m still kicking myself for not getting one sooner.
Overall, I’m super happy with my Polaris cordless pool cleaner. It’s made pool maintenance so much easier, and I actually look forward to cleaning the pool now. If you’re on the fence, I’d say go for it. You won’t regret it!
