So, I finally got my hands on the new iPhone 15, and the first thing I thought was, “I need a privacy screen!” I’m always on my phone in public, whether it’s on the train, at a coffee shop, or just walking around. And let’s be honest, nobody wants the person next to them peeking at their texts, emails, or, you know, embarrassing TikTok browsing history.
I started by doing some quick research online. I looked at a few different brands and read a bunch of reviews. I wanted something that was:
- Easy to apply: I’m terrible at putting on screen protectors. Bubbles everywhere!
- Actually private: Some of those privacy screens barely work.
- Durable: I drop my phone… a lot.
- Affordable:I am not rich.
After digging around, I decided to go with a brand.
The Installation Process
Okay, I’ll admit, I was nervous. Screen protectors and I have a bad history. But this one came with a little alignment frame, which seemed promising. First, I cleaned my iPhone screen like crazy with the included wipes and microfiber cloth. I got the dust sticker and dabbed away, get every speck of visible dust off.
Then, I snapped the frame onto my phone, peeled off the backing of the screen protector, and carefully lined it up with the frame. I pressed it down in the center and watched as it magically adhered to the screen.
There were a couple of tiny bubbles, but I used the included squeegee thingy to push them out to the edges. Honestly, it wasn’t nearly as bad as I expected!
Does it Actually Work?
The real test! I tilted my phone to the side, and boom! The screen went dark. It was like magic. I handed it to my friend and asked her to try and read what was on the screen from an angle, and she couldn’t see a thing. Success!
Final Thoughts
So far, so good! I’ve been using the privacy screen for a few days now, and I’m really happy with it. It gives me peace of mind knowing that my screen is protected from prying eyes. It doesn’t interfere with the touch sensitivity, and the screen still looks pretty clear when I’m looking at it straight on. Plus, I haven’t dropped my phone yet (knock on wood), so I can’t speak to the durability just yet, but it feels pretty solid. Overall, I’d definitely recommend a privacy screen if you’re concerned about keeping your iPhone screen contents to yourself.
