So, I was looking at my Fitbit the other day and thought, you know, this clock face is getting a bit boring. Been seeing the same numbers arranged the same way for months now. Felt like time for a little refresh, nothing major, just something new to look at when I check the time or my steps.

Finding and Changing the Face

First step, I had to grab my phone. Can’t really do this directly on the Fitbit itself, the brains for this operation are in the app. So, I unlocked my phone and opened up the Fitbit app. Had to wait a second for it to sync up with my tracker, usual stuff.

Once it was all loaded, I looked at the main screen of the app. Up in the top corner, there’s usually a little icon or picture representing your connected Fitbit. I tapped on that. That took me into the specific settings page for my device.

Okay, now I was looking at a list of things I could tweak for my Fitbit. Like alarms, notifications, that sort of thing. I scrolled down a bit, looking for something related to the display. Found it! It was labeled Gallery. On some older Fitbits or different versions, I hear it might just say ‘Clock Faces’. Anyway, I tapped on Gallery.

This was the fun part. It opened up a whole bunch of different watch faces. Seriously, there were loads to choose from. Some were made by Fitbit, others by different designers. I noticed quite a few were free, which is always nice, but some had a small price tag. I just browsed around for a bit. You can usually filter them or look through categories.

I saw one that caught my eye. Simple design, but showed the heart rate and steps clearly, which is what I mostly glance at. I tapped on that specific face to get a better look. It showed a preview and a little description. Seemed decent enough for me.

There was a big button, pretty obvious, that said Install. I gave that a tap. My phone then told me it was installing the new face, and I saw a progress bar. My Fitbit screen also changed to show it was updating. It said to keep the phone close to the tracker, so I just put them side-by-side on the table.

It took maybe a minute, maybe two. Not long at all. The progress bar filled up on the phone app, and then, bam! The new clock face just popped up on my Fitbit screen. Looked pretty good.

And that’s all there was to it, really. Just needed the phone app and a few minutes. Nice to have a fresh look on my wrist. Didn’t cost anything either, since I picked a free one. Pretty straightforward process once you know where to look in the app.
