Okay, so I had this HUGE box of old VCR tapes. You know, the ones with family vacations, kid’s birthdays, that sort of precious stuff. I really wanted to save them, but who even has a VCR player anymore? I’d heard about getting them converted to DVDs, so I decided to give it a shot at Costco, since I’d seen something about it before.
First, I gathered all my tapes. This was a project in itself! They were scattered all over the attic and basement. Some were labeled, some weren’t…it was a mess. I spent a good afternoon just sorting through them and making sure I had everything I wanted to transfer.
Next, I headed to my local Costco. I went straight to the photo center, figuring that’s where they’d handle this kind of thing. I found a kiosk with a helpful employee.
I explained what I wanted – to transfer my VHS tapes to DVDs. The employee was super friendly and showed me the order form. It was pretty straightforward.
- I checked the boxes to indicate I wanted to transfer vcr to dvd.
- I filled in the quantity of tapes.
- I Provided my contact info.
The employee explained the pricing, it’s seemed reasonable enough for saving those memories.
Then came the waiting game. I dropped the tapes off, and they told me it would take a few weeks. It felt like forever, I was so anxious to see the results! Finally, I got the call that they were ready.
I rushed back to Costco and picked up my DVDs. I popped one into my DVD player as soon as I got home, and there it was! My old family vacation, looking (and sounding) pretty good. It wasn’t perfect, of course, the original tapes were old, but it was totally watchable and so much better than having them stuck on those ancient tapes.
Overall, I’m super happy with how it turned out. it took a few weeks of waiting, but it was worth it to preserve those memories.
