Okay, so today I’m gonna walk you through how I paired my Bose SoundLink. It was kinda a pain at first, but I figured it out, and now it’s smooth sailing.
First things first: power it on. Sounds obvious, right? But I totally spaced on this the first time. Make sure that little power button is lit up.
Next up, Bluetooth mode. You gotta press that Bluetooth button on the top. Look for the Bluetooth icon to start blinking. That means it’s searching for a device to connect to.
Now, jump over to your phone or whatever device you’re pairing it with. Head into your Bluetooth settings. It’s usually under Settings, then Bluetooth. Make sure Bluetooth is turned on on your device, obviously.
Wait for it… wait for it… Your device should start scanning for nearby Bluetooth devices. After a sec (or maybe a little longer, depending on your device), “Bose SoundLink” or something similar should pop up in the list of available devices.
Tap it! Just tap on “Bose SoundLink” in that list. Your device will try to connect. You might get a little pop-up asking if you want to pair. Just confirm that.
Listen for the beep. The Bose SoundLink should make a little “beep” or other confirmation sound. That’s how you know it’s successfully paired. The Bluetooth light on the speaker should also stop blinking and stay solid.
Troubleshooting time (because things never go perfectly, do they?). If it doesn’t connect, here’s what I tried:
- Turn Bluetooth off and on again. On both the speaker and your device. Seriously, this fixes like half the problems with Bluetooth.
- Make sure the speaker isn’t already connected to something else. If it is, disconnect it from that other device first.
- Move closer. Bluetooth range isn’t amazing. Get your device closer to the speaker.
- “Forget” the device and try again. In your Bluetooth settings on your phone, there’s usually an option to “forget” a device. Do that for the Bose SoundLink, then go through the pairing process from the beginning.
One last thing I ran into: sometimes, if I had paired it with multiple devices, it would try to automatically connect to the wrong one. So, I had to go into my device’s Bluetooth settings and manually select the Bose SoundLink each time.
That’s pretty much it. Now I can blast my tunes. Hope this helps!
