Okay, so I was looking to get some privacy on my iPhone 14, you know, like when you’re out and about and don’t want everyone peeking at your screen. I’d heard about these privacy screens and figured it was time to give one a shot.
Getting Started
First, I shopped around a bit to see what was out there. There’s a bunch of different brands and types, but I ended up going for a tempered glass one that seemed pretty popular and had decent reviews. You know, didn’t want to cheap out and end up with something that would just crack the first time I dropped my phone. I placed my order.
The Wait
I waited a couple of days, and then the package showed up. Pretty standard stuff. It came in a little box with the screen protector, a cleaning cloth, some of those sticky things to get dust off your screen, and a little squeegee-looking thing to smooth out bubbles.
Putting It On
I’ve put on screen protectors before, but it’s always kind of a pain. I cleaned my phone screen like crazy, making sure there wasn’t a speck of dust. I mean, I really went to town on it. Then I peeled off the backing on the privacy screen and carefully lined it up with my phone. This part always makes me a little nervous.
- I laid it down, trying to get it perfect the first time.
- Of course, there were a couple of bubbles.
- So I used that little squeegee thing to push them out.
- It took some doing, but I finally got most of them.
There are still a couple of tiny ones on the edge, but you can barely see them, especially when the screen is on.
The Result
So now I’ve got this privacy screen on my iPhone, and it’s pretty cool. When you look at the phone straight on, it’s clear as day. But if you tilt it even a little, the screen gets all dark and hard to see. I tested it out by having my friend try to peek at my screen from the side, and she couldn’t see a thing. I am satisfied with it. It was not hard to install.
It does make the screen a tiny bit dimmer overall, but it’s not a big deal. I just turned up the brightness a notch. And the touch sensitivity seems fine. I haven’t noticed any issues with that.
So, yeah, that’s my little adventure with putting a privacy screen on my iPhone 14. If you’re thinking about it, I’d say go for it. Just make sure you get a good quality one and take your time putting it on.
