Okay, so the other day, I got this annoying “Critically Low Storage” warning on my Amazon Fire TV. It was driving me nuts because I couldn’t download any new apps or updates, and some of my existing apps were starting to act wonky. I figured, “I gotta fix this,” so I started messing around.
Figuring Out What to Delete
First things first, I needed to see what was hogging all the space. I went into Settings, then Applications, and then Manage Installed Applications. This showed me a list of all my apps, along with how much space each one was using.
It turned out I had a bunch of apps I hadn’t used in ages, like some random games I downloaded on a whim and never played. Easy decision – those had to go! I just selected each one and chose Uninstall.
Clearing Out the Cache
After I got rid of the obvious space hogs, I still needed to free up more space. I remembered that apps often store temporary files, called “cache,” which can take up a surprising amount of room. So, back in the Manage Installed Applications section, I went through each remaining app, one by one, and selected Clear Cache. I didn’t clear the data, because that would wipe out my settings and login info. Just the cache.
I couldn’t believe how much space some apps’ caches were using! Some were small, but others were hundreds of megabytes.
Restart for Good Measure
Once I’d cleared out the caches, I figured it wouldn’t hurt to restart the Fire TV. I did this by holding down the Select and Play/Pause buttons on the remote at the same time for about five seconds. This forces a restart, which can sometimes help clear out temporary files and such.
Success!
After the restart, I went back into the Settings to check the storage, and bam! I had a ton more free space. The “Critically Low Storage” warning was gone, and everything was running smoothly again. I could finally download that new streaming app I’d been wanting to try.
so,this is my story about “critically low storage on amazon fire tv”.I hope you can learn something for it!
