Okay, so, I’ve been keeping an eye on this whole Android 16 update thing for my Samsung S23. I got this phone last year, and I really wanna know when I can get the newest Android on it. I started digging around to see what’s up.
First, I checked out some forums and tech blogs. People are saying that the S23 will definitely get Android 16, which is awesome. But, you know, the exact time is still a mystery. Some folks think it might happen in the second half of 2025, but that’s just a guess right now. There was also a mention that Samsung might start pushing out the stable One UI 7 update, which is based on Android 16, for older flagship phones like the S24 and S23 in February, maybe.
Then I went to the official Samsung site. There’s nothing specific about the Android 16 release date for the S23 in the USA yet. But I did find that Samsung confirmed the One UI 6.1 update for the S23 series will start rolling out on March 28. So, that’s something, I guess. It is just a minor update, but it is better than nothing.
I also saw some news about the June security patch for the S23. It’s about 436MB and the version is S916USQS3CXE3. But that’s just a security update, not the big Android 16 one.
My Notes
- Android 16 for S23: Yeah, it’s coming, but when? No clue.
- One UI 7: Maybe around February next year for older phones.
- One UI 6.1: Confirmed for March 28. Small steps.
- June Security Patch: Out now, but not Android 16.
So, after all this, I’m still waiting. It looks like the S23 will get Android 16 eventually, probably with One UI 7. But the exact timing is still up in the air. I’ll keep checking and update you guys when I know more. It’s a bit of a waiting game, but I’m hopeful it won’t be too long!
I really feel that Samsung should give us a clearer timeline. It’s frustrating not knowing when we’ll get the update. Anyway, I’ll share more info as soon as I find anything new. Stay tuned, and let’s hope we get that Android 16 goodness soon!
