Okay, so I got my hands on the new ThinkBook 14 2024. I’ve been using ThinkBooks for a while now, and I’m always curious to see what’s new.
Unboxing and First Impressions
First things first, I grabbed the box and ripped it open. Pretty standard packaging – laptop, charger, some paperwork I probably won’t read. The laptop itself, though? It feels solid. I picked it up, and it’s got a nice weight to it, not too heavy, not too light. The aluminum chassis feels premium, and I really like the two-tone design on the lid. It’s subtle but classy.
Setting Things Up
I flipped open the lid – the hinge feels sturdy, which is always a good sign. Booted it up, and Windows 11 popped up pretty quickly. I went through the usual setup process – connecting to Wi-Fi, setting up my account, all that jazz. Nothing out of the ordinary there.
I have Installed all my favorite apps, like chrome、steam and so on.
Putting It to the Test
- Browsing and Everyday Stuff:
I spent a good chunk of time just browsing the web, checking emails, and watching some videos. Everything felt snappy and responsive. No lag, no stuttering – just smooth sailing.
- A Little Bit of Gaming:
Okay, I know this isn’t a gaming laptop, but I had to try. I fired up a couple of less demanding games, and they ran surprisingly well. Don’t expect to play the latest AAA titles at max settings, but for some casual gaming, it’s definitely doable.
- Work, Work, Work:
I used it for my actual work too – writing documents, editing spreadsheets, that sort of thing. The keyboard is comfortable to type on, with good key travel. I did a couple of video calls, and the webcam and microphone worked great. Clear picture and sound.
- Battery check:
I have charged full battery, and started to test how long it can work, just some normal daily using, coding, browsing, not for gaming. After 8 hours working, it still has power left about 20%. I think it is good enough for me.
Final Thoughts
After using the ThinkBook 14 2024 for a while, I’m pretty impressed. It’s a solid all-around laptop that handles everyday tasks with ease. It’s not the flashiest machine out there, but it’s reliable, well-built, and gets the job done. If you’re looking for a dependable workhorse that won’t break the bank, this one is definitely worth checking out.
