Alright, let’s talk about this iPhone 15 in Gold. My old phone, bless its circuits, was really starting to show its age. Battery life was a joke, and it was getting sluggish. I knew an upgrade was due soon.
When Apple announced the new lineup, I wasn’t immediately sold on anything. I watched the event, looked at the usual stuff online. Then I saw the Gold color for the regular 15. It wasn’t like that super flashy gold from years back, looked more subtle, kinda champagne-ish in the pictures. I usually go for black or white, something simple, but I thought, why not try something different this time? It looked pretty classy.
Getting Hands On It
So, decision made. Gold it is. I decided to order it online. Went to the website right when orders opened up. It was a bit slow, you know how launch days are. Clicked around, selected the Gold model, storage size I needed, and placed the order. Then came the waiting game. The estimated delivery date wasn’t too far off, thankfully, maybe a week or so.
The delivery day finally came. Saw the truck pull up, got the box. Standard brown shipping box, nothing fancy there. Got it inside and started opening it up.
First Look and Feel
Pulled out the actual iPhone box. Smaller than they used to be, right? Opened it up, and there it was. The phone, face up. Peeled off that screen protector thing. Flipped it over to see the back. The Gold color… yeah, it’s nice. It’s definitely subtle. Not super shiny, more of a soft, matte finish on the back glass with slightly different gold shade on the aluminum edges. In some light, it looks almost off-white, in others, you definitely see the gold. It felt good, lighter than my old brick.
Setting it up was pretty standard Apple stuff. Placed my old phone next to it, followed the prompts, transferred everything over. Took a little while, but mostly painless. Plugged it in using the new USB-C cable – that felt a bit weird after years of Lightning, but hey, one less cable type to worry about eventually, maybe.
Been using it for a bit now. Feels quick, screen looks great. The Dynamic Island thing is kinda neat, still getting used to it. But mostly, I’m just enjoying the feel of a new phone that works smoothly. And the color? Yeah, I dig it. It’s different, but not loud. Feels like a good choice.
So yeah, that’s my journey getting the iPhone 15 Gold. Pretty straightforward process, happy with the outcome. The phone works great, and the color is a nice change of pace.
