Okay, so I’ve been trying to figure out how to share my Fubo account with my family without everyone messing up my recordings or watching stuff I don’t want them to see. It’s been a bit of a journey, so I figured I’d share what I learned.
First, I tried just giving my brother my login info. Big mistake. He started recording all these random shows, and my “My Stuff” section became a complete mess. It was like a digital hoarding situation.
Then, I looked into Fubo’s “Family Share” thing. It sounded promising, but it turns out you need to be on a higher-tier plan to get multiple streams. I was on the basic plan, and I wasn’t really keen on upgrading just for that. I did try and find a way to save and share fubo cost,I think it’s a good way.
My solution
So, here’s what I finally did:
- I created separate profiles for each * lets you do this, and it’s a lifesaver. Everyone gets their own “My Stuff,” their own recordings, and their own viewing history.
- I set a strong, unique password for my main profile (the one with all my settings and stuff). I’m the only one who knows that password.
- For the other profiles, I used simpler passwords that I could easily remember and share with my family.
- I made sure everyone understood the rules: Stick to your own profile, and don’t mess with anyone else’s recordings.
It’s been working pretty well so far. Everyone gets to watch what they want, and my “My Stuff” is finally organized again. It’s not perfect – I still wish there was a way to truly lock down individual profiles with different permissions – but it’s a heck of a lot better than the free-for-all it was before.
The key takeaway here is that using profiles and having clear rules is essential. Sharing a streaming account can be a bit of a pain, but with a little bit of setup and communication, it can be manageable.
