Okay, so I’ve been on this kick lately, right? Trying to find some good comedy movies, specifically ones like “21 Jump Street.” I watched it again recently, and man, it’s just so funny. I wanted more of that kind of humor, you know? So, I started digging around.
First, I went straight to Google. Typed in something like “movies similar to 21 Jump Street” or whatever. A bunch of lists popped up, some articles, you know how it is. I started going through them, one by one.
Here’s what I found:
- “Superbad” was one that came up a lot. I’ve seen it before, and yeah, it’s pretty hilarious. Jonah Hill and Michael Cera, they’re a great duo. Definitely has that same kind of raunchy, over-the-top humor.
- Then there was this site, “Letterboxd”. Never heard of it before, but apparently, they have a list of 76 films similar to “21 Jump Street”. 76! That’s a lot. I haven’t gone through all of them yet, but it’s a good place to start, I guess.
- I also found this article that listed the “10 Best Movies Like 21 Jump Street.” It had some good ones on there, like movies about cops going undercover, which is a big part of what makes “21 Jump Street” so funny.
But then I thought, why just rely on these lists? So I went to Reddit. Asked around in some movie subreddits, you know, “Hey, I love ’21 Jump Street,’ what else should I watch?” Got a bunch of replies. Some people suggested stoner comedies, which, okay, I’m not opposed to. They mentioned movies like “Grandma’s Boy,” “How High,” “Half Baked.” I’ve seen some of those, they’re alright. Someone also said “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off,” which is a classic. I mean it’s funny but not really the same vibe, to be honest.
Oh, and I stumbled upon this study from 2016, it said “Airplane!” is like, the funniest movie ever, based on how many laughs you get per minute. I don’t know about that, but it’s pretty funny. I’m more into crude language and sex talk jokes.
Then I checked out what’s on Netflix. They have a list of funny movies too. “The Package,” “Scott Pilgrim,” “The Life of Brian,” “Stripes,” “Animal House.” A bunch of others. I’ve seen a few of those, they’re decent. “The Big Lebowski” is on there, which is one of my favorites. That’s one I could watch over and over.
So yeah, that’s where I’m at now. Still looking, still watching. It’s a fun little project, you know? Just trying to find some good laughs. If you’ve got any suggestions, let me know! I’m always up for a good comedy.
