So I’ve been wanting to pimp out my phone case for a while now. It’s just so plain and boring, you know? I figured, why not add some cool buttons to it? Make it a bit more… me.
First off, I had to find some buttons. Not just any buttons, mind you. I wanted something that would really pop, something that showed off my personality. I spent a good few days just browsing around, hitting up all sorts of stores. Craft stores, thrift shops, you name it. I even looked online, but nothing really caught my eye.
- I rummaged through boxes of old buttons at the thrift store, hoping to find some unique vintage ones.
- I checked out the craft stores, but most of what they had was pretty standard stuff.
- I even browsed online shops, but I couldn’t see the buttons in person, and I was afraid they wouldn’t be what I wanted.
Finally, I stumbled upon this little hole-in-the-wall shop downtown. It was packed with all kinds of random stuff, but they had a whole section dedicated to buttons. And let me tell you, I hit the jackpot! They had everything from shiny metallic ones to quirky, colorful ones. I ended up grabbing a handful that I thought would look awesome on my case.
Next, I had to figure out how to actually attach them to the case. I considered a few options. Super glue seemed like the easiest, but I was worried it might damage the case. Hot glue was another possibility, but I didn’t want it to be too bulky.
Then I remembered I had this special adhesive for phone accessories. So I decided to give it a try. I grabbed some tools and the case and buttons, and started.
The adhesive was pretty easy to work with. I just applied a small amount to the back of each button and then carefully pressed them onto the case. I made sure to arrange them in a way that I liked. I went for a kind of random, asymmetrical look. I think it turned out pretty cool.
The real test was whether they’d actually stay on. It took a while to dry. And let me tell you, I’ve been using my phone like crazy since then, and those buttons haven’t budged. They’re stuck on there good! I even accidentally dropped my phone a couple of times (oops), but the buttons are still holding strong.
My Thoughts
Overall, I’m super happy with how it turned out. It’s definitely a conversation starter, and it makes my phone feel a lot more unique. If you’re thinking about adding some buttons to your phone case, I say go for it! Just make sure you choose an adhesive that’s strong enough to hold them in place and remember that buttons should be designed for phone cases! And make sure your phone case is not cracked. It’s a fun and easy way to personalize your stuff.
