Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this lightning port pen drive thingy, and let me tell you, it’s been a bit of a journey. I wanted to be able to easily transfer files between my iPhone and my computer, and I thought this would be the perfect solution. Here is my experience from beginning to done.
I picked up this little gadget * looked pretty straightforward – a pen drive with a Lightning connector on one end and a regular USB on the other. I unboxed and first thing I did, I plugged it straight into my iPhone.
Trying to Figure It Out
My phone recognized it right away, which was cool, but then it asked me to download some app. I followed the instructions, I found and installed the app.
Once I got the app installed, things got a little less intuitive. There was a bunch of options, and I wasn’t totally sure what to do first. I just wanted to move some photos from my phone to the drive, simple and easy.
I poked around the app for a while, I pressed some keys, then finally found the section for photos, and I started selecting the ones I wanted to transfer.
Transfer Time!
- Selected the photos (this took a bit because I have tons).
- Hit the ‘transfer’ button (or whatever it was called – can’t quite remember).
- Waited.
It wasn’t lightning fast (pun intended, haha), but it wasn’t terribly slow either. Probably took a few minutes to move a couple hundred photos. Good enough for me.
Checking on the Computer
Now for the real test – seeing if the files actually made it. I unplugged the drive from my phone and plugged it into my computer. There it was! I opened the folder, and yep, all my photos were there, safe and sound.
Final Thoughts
So, yeah, this lightning port pen drive thing… it works. It’s not the most user-friendly thing in the world, especially that app, but once you figure it out, it does what it’s supposed to do. Would I recommend it? Sure, if you need a simple way to move files and don’t mind a little bit of a learning curve. I think it is useful for me.
