Okay, here’s my blog post about using a MagSafe charger with a Samsung phone:
So, I’ve been seeing these MagSafe chargers everywhere, and they look super convenient. I’m a Samsung user, always have been, but I was curious – could I get in on this MagSafe action? I decided to try it out.
My Little Experiment
First things first, I grabbed a MagSafe charger. It’s just a little puck, nothing fancy. I also knew I needed something to make my Samsung phone “MagSafe compatible.”
- Step 1: The Case Hunt. I started looking for cases. You can find “MagSafe compatible” cases for Samsung phones. These cases have magnets built into them, arranged in a circle, just like the MagSafe thing.
- Step 2: Slap it On. I found a case I liked, put it on my phone. Pretty straightforward.
- Step 3: The Moment of Truth. I plugged in the MagSafe charger and held it to the back of my phone (with the new case, of course).
And… it worked! Kind of.
The phone started charging! But, it wasn’t as strong of a connection as I’d seen with iPhones. It was definitely charging, but I wouldn’t trust it to hold my phone up dangling or anything.
I moved the charger around a bit, and the charging kept going. The alignment wasn’t super picky, which was good. It was charging about as fast as my regular wireless charger, no real difference there.
My Takeaway
So, yeah, you can use a MagSafe charger with a Samsung, but you need that special case. It’s not true MagSafe, because it’s the case doing the work, not the phone itself. It’s more like… MagSafe-ish.
If I am being completely honest, I wouldn’t say it is a perfect solution or real. But it’s cool to try out!
