Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this Nanit Sound Machine thing, and let me tell you, it’s been a bit of a journey. I wanted to share my experience, from start to finish, in case anyone else is thinking about getting one or is having trouble setting it up.

First off, I unboxed the thing. It came with the Nanit Sound Machine, and the power adapter.

I then plugged it in. Seemed simple enough, right? You just find a spot near the baby’s crib, plug it into the wall, I downloaded the Nanit app on my phone and get ready to go.

App Setup

Next, I had to download the Nanit app. This is where things got a little interesting. I searched for “Nanit” in the app store (I’m on an iPhone, but it’s on Android too), found it, and installed it.

Once the app was installed, I opened it up and created an account. You know the drill: email, password, all that jazz. Then, I had to pair the Sound Machine with the app. This involved, pressing the Wi-Fi button on the device and select it in the app.

Once everything was connected, I could finally start playing around with the sounds and settings. It has all these options, white noise, nature sounds, lullabies. You can adjust the volume, set timers. Pretty cool.

I tested out a few different sounds. Tried the white noise, the ocean waves, even a little bit of the classical music. I wanted to see how loud it could get, and if the sounds were actually soothing.

I also played with the timer function. I set it to play for 30 minutes, just to see if it would actually shut off automatically. It did, so that was good.

Honestly, the whole setup process was a bit finicky. It took me a couple of tries to connect. But once I figured it out, it’s been pretty smooth sailing. Now I can control the sounds and volume right from my phone, which is super convenient, especially in the middle of the night.
