Alright, so the other day I was trying to catch up on some YouTube videos during my lunch break, but surprise, surprise – it was blocked! I mean, come on, a guy’s gotta have his cat videos, right? So, I decided to take matters into my own hands and figure out how to get around this little obstacle.
The First Try (and Fail)
First, I thought, “Okay, maybe I’ll just try a different browser.” I usually use Chrome, so I fired up Firefox. No luck. Still blocked. Bummer.
Digging a Little Deeper
Then I remembered something about proxy servers. I’m no tech wizard, but I figured it was worth a shot. I did a quick search and found a few free proxy websites. I typed in the YouTube URL… and waited. And waited. It was slower than a snail in a molasses factory. Finally, it loaded, but the video kept buffering every two seconds. Totally unwatchable.
Time to Get Creative
So, proxies were a no-go. I was starting to get desperate. Then I remembered, there used be those other free video websites, but the good ones are all gone, the rest are shady as hell. That is when I have to think out of the box.
The Solution
I went to the network administrator, turns out he is a nice guy, after some chatting, he unblocked Youtube for me. I mean, all you need to do, is to ask.
So, that’s my story of how I finally managed to watch my YouTube videos. Persistence (and a bit of luck) pays off!
