Okay, so “Coming in January” – it’s a pretty broad topic, right? But for me, it was all about finally tackling my messy photo library. I’m talking thousands of pictures, scattered across my phone, old hard drives, and who-knows-where-else. It was a disaster, and I kept putting it off. But I decided, come January, this was getting fixed.
First, I gathered everything. All the devices, all the drives. It was like an archaeological dig, unearthing old memories and a whole lot of “why did I take five pictures of this blurry tree?” moments. It was a little overwhelming, to be honest.
Then, I started the slow process of transferring everything to my main computer. This took forever. Seriously, days. I had to keep stopping and starting because I’d find something interesting and get totally sidetracked looking at old photos. Procrastination at its finest!
- Find External Hard drive.
- Charge Old phone.
- Set up a new blank external storage drive
Once everything was in one place, the real fun began. I downloaded this photo management software. I just used it to organize photos. I’d heard good things about it, and it seemed pretty straightforward.
Start to Tidy up
The software lets you create folders, tag photos, and even remove duplicates. The duplicate finder was a lifesaver. I had, like, ten copies of the same picture of my cat sleeping. No joke.
I spent hours, I mean hours, sorting. By date, by event, by person. It was tedious, but also kind of satisfying. Like cleaning out a really cluttered closet. Slowly but surely, things started to take shape.
Finally, after what felt like a lifetime, I was done. My photo library was organized. I could actually find things! It was a miracle. And the best part? I had a solid backup system in place, so I wouldn’t have to go through this madness again.
So, yeah, “Coming in January” for me was all about conquering the photo chaos. It wasn’t glamorous, but it was definitely a win. If you’re facing a similar mess, just take it one step at a time. You’ll get there!
