Whats Your Fitbit Sleep Animal? Discover and Improve Your Sleep!

Okay, so I’ve been wearing my Fitbit for a while now, mainly to track my steps and, you know, try to be a little healthier. But recently, I stumbled upon this “Sleep Animals” thing, and, man, it’s kinda changed the game for my sleep tracking.

It all started when I was just poking around in the Fitbit app. I usually just glance at my sleep score, see if I got enough hours, and move on. But this time, I noticed a little section about “Sleep Animals.” Intrigued, I tapped on it.

Basically, Fitbit assigns you a sleep animal based on your sleep patterns over the past month. It’s not just about how long you sleep, but also things like how restless you are, how long it takes you to fall asleep, and your sleep schedule consistency.

My First Sleep Animal

My first animal was a tortoise. I gotta admit, I was a little bummed at first. I mean, a tortoise? It sounds so… slow. But then I read the description, and it actually made a lot of sense. It said I had a pretty consistent sleep schedule and that I usually slept soundly, but that I sometimes had trouble falling asleep quickly.

  • Consistent Schedule: Yep, I’m usually in bed around the same time every night.
  • Sound Sleeper: Once I’m out, I’m pretty much out.
  • Trouble Falling Asleep: Guilty. My mind tends to race before bed.

Trying to “Change” My Animal

After getting the tortoise, I got a bit, shall we say, motivated. I wanted to see if I could get a different animal. I started paying more attention to my pre-sleep routine. I tried things like:

  • Cutting back on screen time before bed (harder than it sounds!).
  • Doing some light stretching or reading instead of scrolling through social media.
  • Making sure my bedroom was dark and cool.

It took a few weeks, but eventually, I saw a change. My sleep animal shifted to a bear! The bear description highlighted my solid sleep duration and generally good sleep quality. Progress!

The Takeaway (So Far)

I’m still figuring this whole sleep animal thing out. It’s not like it’s a perfect science, but it’s definitely made me more aware of my sleep habits.

It’s kind of like a fun little game, trying to see if I can “unlock” different animals. But more importantly, it’s helped me to focus on actually improving my sleep, not just tracking the hours.

I am working to get the most rare ones. I will keep you updated.
