So, the other day I found myself looking for a Sans coloring page. Not just any Sans, mind you. I specifically wanted something that didn’t look overly complicated or like those super detailed anime drawings you sometimes see. Just plain, simple Sans from Undertale. It started because my kid was really into the game again, and asked me if we could draw him. My drawing is, let’s be honest, pretty bad. Like, stick figures are a challenge sometimes. So, coloring page seemed like the best way to go.
Finding the Right Page
First thing I did was hop onto the computer. Typed in something like “sans undertale coloring page simple” or maybe “sans easy coloring”. You get a lot of results, a real mix. Some were incredibly detailed fan art, which is cool, but not what I was after. Others were clearly aimed at really young kids, like super blocky. I spent a good few minutes just scrolling, looking for one that felt right.
I wanted that classic Sans look – the lazy grin, hoodie, maybe hands in his pockets. Some pages had him in action poses, using bones or Gaster Blasters, but I just wanted a chill vibe. Filtered out the ones that looked too ‘anime-fied’, you know? Exaggerated expressions, spiky hair shadows, stuff like that. It’s not really his style in the game.
Getting it Ready
Finally landed on one. Looked pretty official, or at least very close to the game’s pixel art style but made into clean lines. Simple background, mostly just him standing there. Perfect. Downloaded the image. Seemed like a standard JPG or PNG file, nothing weird.
Then came the printing part. Fired up the old printer. Naturally, it complained about low ink. Always does when you actually need it, right? Luckily, I had a spare black cartridge somewhere. Swapped that in. Used regular A4 paper, nothing special. Just wanted something to color on. It printed out fine, lines were clear enough.
The Coloring Process
Alright, got the page. Now for the fun part. Grabbed my stash of colored pencils. Not markers, because they tend to bleed through cheap paper. Pencils give you more control anyway, I think.
- Started with the hoodie. Went for that classic blue color. Tried to shade it a little, make it look a bit worn.
- Left the skull and bones white, obviously. Maybe added a tiny bit of grey shading here and there, so it wasn’t just flat white.
- Black shorts with the white stripes down the side. Simple enough.
- Pink slippers? Or were they white? I went with white, seemed easier.
Didn’t take too long, maybe 20 minutes? It was actually pretty relaxing. Just focusing on staying inside the lines, picking the colors. It’s kind of meditative, takes your mind off other stuff. Didn’t try anything too fancy, just wanted a clean-looking Sans.
End Result
And that was it. Had myself a colored Sans page. Looked decent enough. Kid was happy, which was the main goal. It wasn’t a masterpiece, but it was a nice little activity. Finding a good, simple line art page was probably the trickiest bit, honestly. But once I had that, the rest was easy and quite enjoyable. Might even do another character sometime if I get the urge.
