Okay, so I saw this article title, “it doesn’t stay hot for long nyt,” and I was like, what’s this about? Gotta try it myself, right? I mean, it sounds like some kind of cooking challenge or something.
So, first, I tried to find the actual article. Spent a good 20 minutes, It was a bit of a pain, to be honest. Turns out, it’s about how quickly food delivery gets cold. Duh! Should’ve guessed.
The Experiment Begins!
I decided to order some food and see for myself. I went with pizza, ’cause who doesn’t love pizza? Plus, it’s kinda known for getting cold fast.
- Step 1: Ordered a large pepperoni pizza from my usual place.
- Step 2: Started a timer the second I got the confirmation.
- Step 3: Waited… and waited… and waited. Felt like forever!
The pizza finally arrived. I ripped open the box – still pretty hot, I gotta admit. I took a slice, nice and cheesy, good stuff.
But here’s where the “it doesn’t stay hot for long” part comes in. I deliberately left the pizza box open, just like they probably do during delivery. I took another slice about 5 minutes later. Noticeably cooler. Not cold, but definitely not as hot as the first one.
Another 5 minutes, another slice. Yeah, it was getting cold. The cheese wasn’t all melty anymore, and the crust was starting to get a little…sad. It was edible, sure. But not great and this is happening super quickly, by my estimation.
The Conclusion?
By the time I got to the last slice, maybe 20 minutes after the pizza arrived, it was lukewarm at best. Kinda disappointing, really. That “hot and fresh” feeling? Gone in, like, minutes. And it’s true – it really doesn’t stay hot for long!
So, yeah, the article was right. Food delivery, especially pizza, loses its heat pretty fast. Next time, I’m either eating it super quick or maybe just picking it up myself.
I feel the title and the test make sense.
